Looking For A Truly Terrifying Vacation Spot? How About Jellyfish Lake?
When it comes time to pick a vacation destination, you might say there are just too many places to choose from.
Allow me to make a suggestion, though…
Maybe instead of picking some place you’ll enjoy, choose a destination that will help you face your fears of jellyfish! I know, it sounds crazy, but just wait until I tell you about Jellyfish Lake, located on an uninhabited island just off the coast of Koror in Palau.
On this small, rocky island is a saltwater lake that’s home to literally hundreds of thousands of jellyfish.
Even more fascinating is that you can swim with them without fearing for your life.
While these jellies do have a sting, it’s too weak for humans to feel the effects.
So how did all these jellyfish get here in the first place?
Well, the lake used to be connected to the ocean, but it was cut off 12,000 years ago after the last ice age.
Today, you can visit the island in the South Pacific and swim with the jellyfish as they feed off of algae in the water.
Judging from the video below, it’s an entirely surreal experience.
I’ll be honest, that does seem pretty amazing. Still, though, I’d be a bit hesitant to just jump in the water with all those jellies.
